Exploring Lake Cave in Gifford Pinchot National Forest

Last Sunday, Evan and I and a couple of his friends finally got out to explore Lake Cave. We were originally planning on exploring Dead Horse Cave but it had been raining for several days so it was likely at least partially flooded. So we decided on exploring Lake Cave instead, hoping to find the seasonal lake at the end of the lava tube. What we found stunned and surprised us.

Directions

From Vancouver, drive north on I-5
Take the Woodland exist and drive east to Cougar
From Cougar, drive east on Forest Road 90 and turn left onto Forest Road 83

To find the cave, follow the path from the left side of the restrooms until you come to the entrance to Lake Cave.
